Student Central provides a high level service delivery philosophy and functions as a central operational unit for student support services on the Indiana University Southeast (SE) campus. Cross- trained staff perform a variety of complex duties involving the interpretation, dissemination, evaluation, and problem-solving of student services and information for students, the general public, staff, and faculty (clients). The areas include, but are not limited to: financial aid, registration, financial literacy, student accounts, and other university-related services. Forms of interaction with clients include in-person, phones, zoom, and email.
Job Summary
This position's main responsibility is serving as a customer service representative for the Student Central office for student services. Offices included in Student Central are: the Office of the Bursar, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of the Registrar.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Answers detailed questions regarding detailed policies and procedures related to student accounts, tuition and fees, billing, fee assessment, refunding, registration, drop/add, transcripts, financial aid, student deadlines, and related enrollment management departments.
Processes payment logs for student accounts.
Provides outreach to students and assists with enrollment management initiatives.
Performs office tasks such as counting money, shredding, data entry, duplicating and faxing
Delivers full range of customer service to all clients including current students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Answer calls and emails daily.
Assists with Enrollment Management outreach efforts to students.
Performs other administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
Preferred
Bachelor's degree.
SKILLS
Required
Knowledge of computers and database/word processing software.
Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written).
Excellent customer Service skills.
Detail oriented.
Ability to work with wide range of people.
Ability to handle stress and fast paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Proven orientation toward quality service.
Preferred
