Position Overview



Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Accountant to join their hybrid team in Arlington, Virginia. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, enabling them to manage complex financial tasks efficiently.



Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate fixed assets ledger; update records as needed.


• Perform monthly reconciliations of multiple bank accounts.


• Record and reconcile bank fees, interest payments, and service charges.


• Prepare and post entries for interest accruals, vendor rebates, prepaid expenses, and depreciation.


• Support the processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable.


• Assist with vendor collections, resolving outstanding balances in a timely manner.


• Issue approved payments to vendors.


• Own the month-end and year-end close process.


• Prepare financial statements and management reports.


• Analyze and report on monthly financial trends.


• Review employee travel expense reports for accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.


• Process approved expenses for timely reimbursement.


• Support internal and external audit requests.


• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: Degree in Accounting.


• Experience in financial reporting and month-end/year-end close processes.


• Strong understanding of GAAP and compliance requirements.


• Proficiency in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.


• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


• Strong communication and organizational skills.


• Experience with financial software and database management.

Required Work Hours



Monday - Friday, during standard business hours. Hybrid in Arlington, Virginia.

Benefits



Competitive hourly rate ranging from $35 to $45 per hour.
