The Business Analyst will work within the Operations Change and Transformation team in Global Markets. The key purpose of the Change & Transformation Project Manager is to partner with the business and support partners, prioritizing, sponsoring, and implementing multiple change initiatives driven by business, legal, regulatory, compliance, or market requirements.
The change portfolio includes strategic, discretionary, and mandated initiatives. Discretionary projects aim to improve the client experience, support revenue growth, reduce operating costs, improve processing efficiency/control, and support the delivery of new products and services. Mandated initiatives are driven by legal, regulatory, compliance, or market changes.
The extent of the Change & Transformation team's involvement in projects depends on the ownership, nature, scale, and complexity of each initiative. Responsibilities may include full project lifecycle management, business case and requirements documentation, or coordination of user acceptance testing (UAT). The team collaborates with Global Markets Operations, as well as stakeholders from the Front Office, Technology, Finance, Tax, and Treasury.
This role primarily focuses on business analysis for Transaction Reporting within Regulatory Change, starting from the inception phase when Consultation Papers are published. The portfolio includes compliance initiatives across various lines of business (LOBs) related to regulations such as MiFID II, EMIR, CFTC, SFTR, and SEC. Additionally, the role involves working with Operations and Technology teams to define and implement solutions for post-implementation gaps, including coordination of SIAIs, tail risk management, and delivery.
Required Skills
Significant experience in project/change management
Background in global markets and regulatory projects (preferred)
Strong business partnering skills across the organization
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Business analysis experience and expertise in leading analysis working groups
Deep understanding of regulatory changes, from industry forums to consultation papers to final rulemaking (advantageous)
Significant experience in impact assessment
Previous experience in documenting clear reporting requirements
Experience in industry forum participation (preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and manage strict deadlines
Experience with DAIC and Agile methodologies
Other Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Project management experience in Financial Services, especially Investment Banking
Knowledge of structured project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Microsoft Solutions Framework)
Understanding of structured business analysis techniques (e.g., Six Sigma)
Product knowledge in global markets
Knowledge of sales/trading and post-trade processing
