Optical Laser Technician at The Judge Group Inc. in East Providence, Rhode Island

Location: East Providence, RI

Salary: $35.00 USD Hourly - $40.00 USD Hourly

Description:
One of our clients is looking to hire an Optical Laser Technician.


This will be a long term 1+ year contract opportunity with strong likelihood for extensions


(This role is apart of a 4 yr project, contract expected to be 4 years min.)


Onsite in East Providence, RI


The Laser Technician will:


-Calibrate and test complex optical and electro-mechanical systems.


-Align lasers.


-Use oscilloscopes, CCD cameras, multimeters, and high-power laser systems.


Responsibilities:


Disassemble and assemble laser systems.


Inspect and clean optical components.


Debond/glue optical components.


Align laser resonators and frequency conversion crystals.


Conduct calibration and burn-in tests.


Prepare engineering documentation.


Use measurement tools to validate hardware.


Observe tests, communicate findings, and solve problems.


Work in a team to improve optical systems.


Test and repair fielded optical systems.


Lift equipment up to 40 lbs.


Qualifications


Minimum 2 years of experience in optics.


Experience aligning lasers and optical systems.


Skilled with laboratory tools in a clean environment.


Proficient with oscilloscopes, CCD cameras, and high-power lasers.


Basic problem-solving and engineering skills.


Intermediate math, statistics, and communication skills.
