Job Description:

Arkansas State University Beebe, a two-year residential community college a part of the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full-time, promotion eligible, Instructor or Assistant Professor of Communications to begin August 2025.


The successful candidate will possess a knowledge of the field of Communications. and be able to teach 1000 and 2000 level courses in Communications. Online instruction using the Canvas platform will be required. The ideal candidate will possess 18 graduate hours in closely related field and have a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1. Teach Oral Communications classes in various formats, including in-person (day and night) classes, online and at other locations as needed.·
2. Maintain a roster of advisees across multiple Arts and Humanities. disciplines.·
3. Assist with curriculum development for online and in-person classes.·
4. Participate in course and program assessment to support continuous improvement.·
5. Engage in student recruitment and retention initiatives.·
6. Serve on institutional committees.·
7. Participate in community engagement events.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Communications or closely related field. Strong computer/technology skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

One to three years teaching experience including online and in-person classes at a community college. Strong computer/technology skills. At least 18 additional graduate hours in a second area housed in the Division of Arts and Humanities.
