JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Manager is responsiblefor management of the Bowling Green coatings removal facility, including normalstaffing of all shifts, maintenance, contract employees, and truckdrivers. This role involves managing to achieve a high level of customerservice, while controlling costs to stay within budgets; managing the workersto maximize productivity; and ensuring that labor and management meet theirobligations. The Plant Manager is responsible for enforcing all safetyrequirements and plant work rules.The role also includes frequentinteraction with internal sales representatives and customer contacts tosupport business growth as this plant has excellent potential for sales growth!
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and enhance safety andhousekeeping throughout the facility.
Drive continuousimprovement.Set high expectations for order and cleanliness.
Manage the plant team to meetdaily, monthly, and long-term objectives.
This includes on-the-floormanagement, goal setting and performance management, handling personnelmatters, development of training plans, etc.
Administration of overtime,personal days, annual evaluations, vacation schedule, and the plant work rules.
Identify and lead investments andorganizational changes needed to support sales growth, and improvements inprofitability.
Coordinate communication to ensuresite cohesion and culture.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven successful work experienceas a plant manager, 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
Preferred 5+ years ofmanufacturing experience with exposure to manufacturing best practices andcontinuous improvement.
Ability to drive change,improve/create new processes in a fast-paced environment.
Adequate knowledge of business andmanagement principles (budgeting, capital expenditure, strategic planning,resource allocation and human resources).
Familiarity with industry standardequipment and technical expertise.
Knowledge of safety, quality,productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
Computer literacy, proficient withMicrosoft Office.
Ability to drive improvement inthe plant.
Strong team building,decision-making and people management skills.
EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
High School or GED is required.Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
