Job Description:

COPY EDITOR/PAGE DESIGNER

Trib Total
Media, producer of two daily award-winning newspapers and more than a
dozen weekly and monthly publications in the Pittsburgh region, is seeking
a full-time copy editor/page designer to join our copy desk. 

Our daily
Tribune-Review newspapers have been honored three consecutive years as Best
Overall Newspaper by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Journalists, so
we take our design seriously. 

Our copy
desk team thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working
independently and not intimidated by the pressure of tight
daily deadlines. 

To be a member
of our team, you must have experience building award-worthy newspaper
pages in InDesign and hold a superior understanding of AP style in addition to
grammar, punctuation and spelling. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and
Illustrator is a plus. 

Copy desk
responsibilities include editing copy and writing headlines, then taking that
copy to build eye-catching, thought-provoking pages for news,
features, opinion and sports in both broadsheet and tabloid publications. 

Work hours
typically fall between 3 and 11 p.m. The Trib prints newspapers seven days a
week, so working some weekend shifts will be required. Remote work is an
option. 

The
Tribune-Review is known for its exceptional local news and sports coverage in
Western Pennsylvania. Its flagship website, TribLIVE.com, is the most-visited
news website in the region.
