Job Description:

Title: Financial Controller

Office Status: Hybrid 4x a week in office

Salary: $200,000-$240,000 + 20% Bonus

A multibillion-dollar subsidiary of a global financial services company is seeking a Financial Controller. The firm specialized in providing various types of financing and leasing options for mid sized companies and has grown exponentially over the past three years due to various acquisitions and JV deals. This position will be responsible for maintaining and implementing strong internal controls and driving process improvements. The Controller will manage a team of 4, reporting into the VP of Finance and the CFO. The firm is known to have a culture that provides long term stability for their employees (several members of this team have worked here for 10+ years).

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounting team for the accuracy of the financial statements through the monthly close process and the timely reporting to HQ.
  • Manage accounting operations (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Cash Management) and work to identify and report out on KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with HQ reporting requirements and Accounting policies and responsible for the preparation and accuracy of US GAAP and IFRS financial statements.
  • Drive consistency throughout US and Canada operations.
  • Assess current accounting operations, drive process improvements, and develop metrics to monitor the effectiveness of process improvements.
  • Serve as key liaison for External Audit, ensuring absence of discrepancies and effective and efficient audit process.
  • Develop and document business processes to drive efficiencies and/or strengthen internal controls.
  • Various projects including adoptions of new accounting standards, accounting aspects of IT integration projects and general ledger chart of accounts.
  • Lead, mentor, and train direct reports.

KPI's (Key Performance Indicators):
  • Cycle time in days to complete month-end close.
  • Contribution - Value of benefits brough in with changes (process improvements).

Qualifications:

15+ years' experience within an accounting role for commercial loans and leases.
  • CPA preferred.
