Job Overview: As the Director of Merchandising for Handbags, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Handbag and small leather goods merchandising strategy. You will play a pivotal role in curating our product assortment, optimizing inventory management, and driving sales and profitability for the handbags and small leather goods category.

Reports to: CEO of Rebecca Minkoff

Key Responsibilities:

? Develop and execute a comprehensive handbag merchandising strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.

? Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging fashion trends and customer preferences within the handbags category.

? Develop Seasonal Merch Line plans and pricing that supports key strategic initiatives, launches, top sellers, seasonal campaigns and trends for Mainline, Wholesale Off-price and DTC Off-price .

? Collaborate with design and product development teams to create a compelling assortment of handbags that cater to our target customer base that meets companies margin targets

? Working with Head of Planning to Manage inventory levels, including forecasting, replenishment, and markdown strategies to optimize profitability.

? Monitor sales performance, analyze KPIs, and take proactive measures to maximize revenue and margin.

? Stay up-to-date competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

? Proven experience 10 years+ in merchandising and product management within the fashion retail industry, with a focus on handbags and accessories.

? Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire

? Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional partners: Marketing, Sales, Buying, Planning, Design, Product Development

? Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

? Proficient in excel.

? A deep understanding of fashion trends and consumer behavior.

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills

? Strong presentation skills and ability to "sell".

? Ability to work within and fast paced and entrepreneurial environment

? Positive personality, "can do' and "how can we do better" attitude.

Work Location and Schedule

This job is hybrid working from our office in New York, NY, some weekdays during normal business hours.
