NextGen Federal Systems is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to be part of a team building a software factory for a DoD customer.
The DevOps Engineer must be a solid performer focused on delivering results as well as promoting strong employee and customer engagement. The team is building out a DevOps platform for multiple tenants. The position requires attention to detail, and the ability to accomplish complex technical tasks.
The work is on site in Suffolk, VA.
Responsibilities:
Work with a team to develop and maintain a DevOps toolchain platform for a DOD mission critical program
Provide expertise to the platform's tenants for CI/CD pipeline implementations
Work with tech leads and architects to contribute to solutions and on-site implementation requirements
Work collaboratively with government stakeholders and across other program DevOps teams
Participate in meetings and provide inputs to the technical solutions team
Track delivery assignments and follow up on direction, action items, questions, and documentation
Mandatory Qualifications:
Experience developing a DevOps platform including scripting to deploy applications, as well as evaluating and integrating new platform tools
4+ years of operations experience working with cross functional teams
2+ years of DevOps implementation experience
Experience with containers and container security
Ansible, Python, or Terraform scripting experience
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong customer-facing skills
Minimum DOD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ Certification
Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Experience deploying RKE2 to an on-prem infrastructure ideally with Terraform
Familiarity with Kubernetes implementations
Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Python
Helm charts, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, or YAML
