The AP Exam Administration Information group within the AP Program Information team manages the development and delivery of critical instructions and messages to schools throughout the year, from exam ordering in the fall through administration of AP Exams in May. You'll be joining a small, highly collaborative, and results-oriented team.



About the Opportunity



This position is for a 2-year term. The Director, AP Exam Administration Information, will play an integral role in the annual delivery of content and messaging, developed primarily for school AP coordinators to support the clean delivery of the AP Exam administration.


In this position, you'll work within the tight-knit AP Exam Administration Information team and you'll also collaborate with colleagues from across the AP Program and other College Board teams. You'll be responsible for planning and developing a range of non-test materials and information for the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) Program, ensuring that information is clear, timely, accurate, and aligned with Program priorities.


The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to education and communications, editorial, and/or publishing experience.


In this role, you will:



Authoring and Editing (40%)





  • Evaluate content in core annual non-test publications and instructions to identify and implement updates needed for each exam administration year.






  • Ensure all non-test information reflects policy and/or functionality changes for 2025 and 2026.






  • Maintain and develop concise, clear, and precise language and instructions, adhering to established AP Program and College Board style.






  • Shape content to best meet the need of the audience (AP coordinators, students, etc.).






  • Review and implement the work of copyeditors and proofreaders.





Management and Resolution of Stakeholder Feedback (30%)





  • Share draft rounds for review with core stakeholders.






  • Continuously track and review stakeholder feedback.






  • Lead facilitated reviews of content with stakeholders when necessary.






  • Actively shape solutions through collaboration with stakeholders, either individually or in small group sessions, to resolve questions and differing opinions.





Planning and Content Management (30%)





  • Help develop and adhere to all annual content development schedules.






  • Schedule and oversee the work of service groups and vendors to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to established specifications and milestones.






  • Maintain task status in team Smartsheet and report on progress at regular team syncs.






  • Proactively identify and resolve blockers.






  • Establish and adhere to milestones within each project, driving progress steadily forward.





About you



You have...




  • Bachelor's degree in related fieldpreferred






  • 5-8, or more, years of progressively responsible content management, writing, editorial, publishing, and/or content management experience in education or a related field required






  • Demonstrated experience successfully developing and revising content for a variety of mediums, particularly for print production






  • Demonstrated project management and time management skills, including ability to accurately gauge project duration, manage expectations, deliver on deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities






  • Ability to work independently to steadily drive project milestones forward






  • Experience with and comfort evaluating and reconciling feedback from multiple stakeholders, including leading collaborative sessions with colleagues from different areas of expertise.

About Our Process

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $80,000 to $125,000. College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary.
