Yahoo Sports Senior NBA Analyst

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis and commentary on the NBA that can be leveraged on and off platform.

• Host and contribute to Yahoo Sports NBA podcast and video franchises.

• Maintain an active presence on multiple social-media platforms and collaborate with social team to promote Yahoo Sports' coverage and content.

• Create and shape shoulder content around tentpole events like NBA Draft, playoffs, trade deadline and free agency.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least five years experience in sports media/journalism.

• Minimum five years experience covering the NBA.

• Minimum three years experience hosting podcast and/or digital video show.

• Strong news judgment and ability to develop a network of contacts and sources.

• Strong writing, grammar, and communication skills, and an understanding of the "tone" of the internet

• Social media experience on X and Instagram, and a willingness to explore other rising social platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the NBA's top news makers, from players to executives to agents.

• Exhibit comfort level in conducting on-camera interviews.

• Ability to work with multiple editors and writers on projects.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
