JOB DUTIES:


- Prepare crash studies using basic data compilation and computation procedures. These studies include crash rate analyses and individual analyses.
- Draw crash diagrams and crash spot maps using MicroStation CAD software.
- Generate, interpret, and manipulate spreadsheets from imported crash data queried from the OnBase and NebCID systems.
- Use electronic document imaging system to retrieve, read, and print motor vehicle crash reports.
- Review crash study locations through the use of the Pathweb photolog system, Google Maps/Earth, maps and map software.
- Upload crash study files into the OnBase system.
- Draft narrative statements for use in crash rate analyses, summarizing crash data for safety project analyses, and creating formalized responses to data requests from internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements / Qualifications:




Minimum Qualifications:Post-high school coursework/training in: statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analysis OR experience in collecting and/or compiling statistics from varied sources using telephones, terminals, microfilm equipment, or surveys; computing solutions to statistical problems; or editing and/or summarizing information into worksheets, tables, and/or reports.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in writing technical reports with attention to detail, using quality data, and providing accurate results.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word).

  • Experience with Microstation/AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OnBase, and ProjectWise Systems.

  • Familiarity with basic electronic document imaging systems and the Nebraska state highway system, including the NDOT reference post system.

  • Experience in collecting and compiling data from varied sources; computing solutions to statistical problems; or editing and/or summarizing information into worksheets, tables, and/or reports.




KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:



  • Proficient and experienced in the use of computer programs.

  • Effective time management skills to maximize the coordination and completion of tasks and activities.

  • Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports that are suitable for public presentations.

  • Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Must have effective communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to read maps.

  • Positive attitude, an objective mindset, and customer service oriented.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work productively alone and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to understand agency standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to think critically and reconcile conflicting data.

  • Must be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities of work being performed.
