JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Data Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing healthcare data to support informed decision-making and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities include collecting, interpreting, and reporting data, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. With strong analytical and technical skills, the Data Analyst transforms data into actionable insights, driving improved patient outcomes and operational excellence, significantly contributing to the success of Choctaw Premier Services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect and compile data from electronic health records (EHRs), patient management systems, and other healthcare databases.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality by performing data cleaning and validation tasks.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to healthcare performance, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize statistical methods and software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R) to perform complex data analyses and generate actionable insights.
  • Develop and produce regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations presenting data findings clearly and effectively.
  • Create detailed charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Provide insights into clinical and operational data to support quality improvement initiatives, cost management, and patient care strategies.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for enhancing healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and management to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate data findings into strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and organizational policies regarding data handling and reporting.
  • Implement data security measures to protect sensitive healthcare information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex healthcare data to provide actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques relevant to healthcare data analysis.
  • Experience with data management systems and tools, as well as familiarity with healthcare databases and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presenting findings, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy in data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ability to identify data-related issues and develop effective solutions to address those issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and proactive approach to exploring and addressing healthcare data questions.
  • Commitment to maintaining data confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve data-driven objectives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, health informatics, statistics, mathematics, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in data analysis, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, SPSS, R).

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree in data science, health informatics, public health, or related field.
  • Certification in data analysis or health informatics (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)).
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, or big data analytics when relevant to the role.
