Description

The Assistant Director of SLATE is a key role responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing customer relationship management (CRM) tools that support the vital admission and enrollment processes at the university. Under the supervision of the ESRA Director, this position will design, test, and implement CRM processes for all incoming student populations, including undergraduate, graduate, online, and international students. A strong focus on enhancing the student experience and effective communication is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. CRM Development and Maintenance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain CRM processes within the Slate platform to streamline admissions for various student populations.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple units to facilitate upgrades, enhancements, and changes to the Slate system.
  2. System Integration and Data Management:
    • Understand Banner tables and data translations to ensure accurate integration between Slate and other data systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Slate, coordinating with Information Technology Services (ITS) and other affected departments.
  3. Project Leadership:
    • Serve as the project leader for system designs and enhancements, preparing necessary documentation and outlining business processes.
    • Coordinate activities with Enrollment Management departments and academic units impacted by admission applications.
  4. Training and Support:
    • Develop documentation, training materials, and conduct training sessions for teams utilizing Slate to ensure effective use of the platform.
    • Provide ongoing support and counsel to academic units to promote equitable and consistent review processes for admissions.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Develop analysis and metrics to visualize student application life cycles, including application funnel, communication statistics, yield percentages, and territory management.
    • Regularly analyze reports and data to inform admission strategies and decision-making.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively seek new features and functionalities within the Slate platform to enhance processes and improve user experience.
    • Attend conferences, online tutorials, and other learning opportunities to stay current on best practices and advancements in CRM technologies.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders across the university, including academic departments, admissions offices, and financial aid.
    • Meet regularly with Enrollment Management offices to discuss challenges, train staff on new enhancements, and review business processes.
  8. Program Review and Equity:
    • Develop and maintain program review processes for all department application reviews.
    • Assist academic units in creating equitable and consistent scoring for admission evaluations.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree.
  2. 3+ years working in education or related field; emphasis in any combination of Enrollment Management including: Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Advising, or Retention including experience implementing and maintaining components of CRM (communication relationship management) software, student enterprise system or other technology based solution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • 3+ years working in Slate CRM.
  • Experience working with Banner Student Information System.
  • Previous project leader/manager for higher ed technology platforms.
  • Strong sense of data management, relational database design and/or data visualizations
