Directs and coordinates activities to purchase and distribute materials, equipment, supplies, gas/electricity and other resources in the organization by performing the following duties personally or through others. This position reports to the Vice President, North American Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function • Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase to supplier selection to price negotiations to commodity inventory • Negotiates complex requests for equipment, suppliers, energy, raw materials (including lead), and services from suppliers and subcontractors • Develop, implement, monitor, maintain and continuously seek to improve the organization's procurement rules and regulations • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy • Handles all correspondence and negotiations with suppliers • Monitor costs and stay within allocated budgets, while continuously seek to identify and pursue cost-savings initiatives • Implement improvements to reduce costs while maintaining quality and on-time delivery • Oversee inventory levels to ensure that materials and supplies are available to support production schedule without excessive overstock • Evaluates quality, price, reliability, delivery, technical support and availability of goods and services • Collaborate with other departments to maintain efficient manufacturing operations • Participate in annual budget process and monthly business reviews • Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements • Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management • Normal work hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS • The ideal candidate is a self-starter, creative and resourceful with excellent analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills • Demonstrates strong project management and inter-personal communication skills • Strong computer and programing skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Must have a BS degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related fields. MBA preferred. • Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or CIPS). • Minimum 8 years of industrial or business experience in purchasing and supply chain management. • Excellent negotiations skills. • Experience with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs, budget management, and KPI monitoring. • Experience in commodity purchasing (i.e. lead metal) preferred. • Proficient in project management software, like Microsoft Project or similar programs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS • Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have a prominent level of reasoning capability including the ability to prioritize and execute individual tasks with moderate direct supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. • Must be able to travel internationally and visit customers as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as needed to accomplish objectives and support responsibilities. • Consistent and regular attendance is required. • Travel may approach up to 25%.
