About the Role:
As a Telco Architect, you will be responsible for the design and deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, focusing on telecommunications-specific workloads and applications. This position requires advanced networking expertise and hands-on experience with cloud automation tools. Your role will also involve working on sensitive government or defense projects, making an active TOP SECRET security clearance mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- **VCF Design & Deployment:** Lead the design, deployment, and management of VMware Cloud Foundation environments, with hands-on experience in VMware products such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria (formerly vRealize Suite).
- **Networking Expertise:** Apply advanced networking knowledge, particularly in routing, switching, and security. Cisco certifications such as CCIE and CCNA are highly desirable to demonstrate proficiency in managing complex networking systems.
- **Automation & Orchestration:** Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Terraform to implement infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment strategies for network and infrastructure services.
- **Telco-Specific Workloads:** Support telecommunications-specific workloads, such as 5G, VoIP, and mobile networking, with an understanding of telco cloud environments and standards.
- **Troubleshooting & Hands-On Skills:** Demonstrate strong hands-on capabilities in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting both virtualized environments and networking infrastructures. Quick problem-solving in virtual environments is crucial for success in this role.
What We're Looking For:
- **Networking Certifications:** CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) are highly desirable.
- **VMware Certifications:** VCP (VMware Certified Professional) for core VMware products and VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional) for advanced design and deployment expertise.
- **Cloud & Automation Certifications:** Terraform Associate and Ansible Automation certifications to demonstrate advanced automation skills.
- **Kubernetes Certification:** CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) is a plus for managing containerized workloads.
- **Telco Expertise:** Experience working with telecom-specific environments, workloads, and applications is highly advantageous, particularly in areas like 5G and VoIP.
