Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for taking x-ray exams and
related duties.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Site Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares patients for digital radiologic procedures. Takes digital x-rays
following established procedures for patient care and safety.
2. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
3. Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment
malfunctions to supervisor.
4. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and
radiologic supplies.
5. Processes digital radiologic image using digital x-ray equipment.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job
position.
EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year customer service experience,
preferably in health care setting.
REQUIREMENTS: Current CPR certification. American Registry of
Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of digital x-ray procedures and protocols.
2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray
testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
3. Knowledge of digital radiology equipment including safety hazards
common to radiology.
