Title: Senior Linux Server Administrator
Location: Cleveland, OH - onsite 4 days a week - Mon or Fri ?ex day from home
Contract Duration: 6-month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $55 per hour
Conversion Salary: Estimated range is $85K-$115K
Overview:
Leads the management and maintenance of our Linux server infrastructure. Resolves server related
problems and maintains system security. Works closely with other IT professionals, developers, and
end-users to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and implement system enhancements.
Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science or related ?eld. • Four (4) year's experience administering Linux-based servers and storage environments. • Experience in project management. • Experience with server automation and con?guration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. • Familiarity with Linux server security best practices and tools, including SELinux, iptables, and
?rewalld. • Related work experience may be substituted for education requirement. One (1) year of related
work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a
high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and eight (8) years of related work
experience can be eligible to apply.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience installing and maintaining Linux and Windows servers running on bare-metal Intel
hardware and virtual servers in virtualized and cloud computing environments, i.e. VMware, Azure,
AWS. • Experience working with container platforms and containerized applications. • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub and GitLab. • PeopleSoft experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and decision-making
abilities. • Knowledge of Linux Server and Windows Server operating systems. • Familiarity with Virtualization Technology and concepts. • Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer Focus" attitude and
delivery. • Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate
communication and develop effective resolution plans. • Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult
situations. • Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, in?uence and
persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global
perspective. • Excellent analytical and programming skills.
