Overview:

We are looking to hire a Quality Inspector for our prominent Aerospace Manufacturing client in Kirkland, WA. In this role you will work closely with engineering drawings, mechanical specifications, and established quality procedures to inspect sheet metal parts and mechanical assemblies.

Duties:
  • Perform inspections of mechanical parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies using blueprints, engineering change notices, and industry standards.
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications, including dimensions, material tolerances, and quality assurance standards.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings with GD&T symbols, ensuring parts meet design intent and tolerances.
  • Use a variety of measurement equipment such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other tools to measure sheet metal and mechanical parts accurately.
  • Fixture parts appropriately for measurement, ensuring correct alignment and stability during the inspection process.
  • Review first article inspection (FAI) paperwork and correct non-conformance reports, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Assist in determining the best methods and sequences for performing inspections and setting up measurement tools.
  • Support shipping inspection processes by verifying paperwork, part counts, labeling, and packaging accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical inspection required.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) required.
  • Proficient in using height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools required.
  • Experience with sheet metal parts and knowledge of fixture setup for accurate measurements preferred.
  • Familiarity with MS Office products, especially MS Excel, to document and report inspection results preferred.
