The successful candidate will join a friendly, multicultural team with 4 other full-time board-certified radiologists, 1 equine ultrasonographer, 6 residents, and 10 technicians in the Diagnostic Imaging service, which serves both the Foster Hospital for Small Animals and the Hospital for Large Animals. The newly renovated Diagnostic Imaging service features one MRI suite equipped with a 3 T Siemens unit with advanced neurology and orthopedic software and a new Canon Exceed LB providing 160 - 0.5 mm slices and modified with the Qalibra system to accommodate standing equine studies along with routine small animal patients. The section has a fully equipped radiology and fluoroscopy suite and two C-Arms that cater to an active interventional radiology case load. The section is also equipped with two DR small animal radiology suites, one DR large animal radiology room and one nuclear medicine suite. Two ultrasound rooms are equipped with two Phillips and one Toshiba unit with several high frequency transducers. The DI section works closely with the large animal ultrasound and sports medicine service, including shared rounds and research collaborations. Large animal ultrasounds are performed by expert equine ultrasonographers using a dedicated Canon Aplio 700 unit. The Section manages its digital database with Carestream PACS V.12 software. The Diagnostic Imaging section is well-recognized for its strong residency program approved by the ACVR and the ECVDI.

Clinical responsibilities include provision of diagnostic imaging service, instruction of clinical-year students, and supervision of interns and residents in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging. For an individual with those interests, engagement in the equine ultrasonography service is expected. In addition to clinical rotation teaching, participation in pre-clinical classroom and laboratory teaching is required.

Faculty members are expected to engage in research and scholarly activity, with the amount of time dedicated depending on the interests and capabilities of the faculty member and the faculty track. Excellent opportunities exist to build clinical and translational research collaborations with researchers on all three campuses of Tufts University, within the New England medical community, and beyond. The Cummings School Clinical Trials Office is available for support and consultation.
