Location: Charlotte, NC, 28269

Duration: 12+ Months

Rate: $46.50/hr

2nd Shift

Job Specific Requirements:
  • This position is accountable for sustaining standard work so that work processes are repeatable and reliable. This is accomplished through the following.
  • Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes that improve manufacturability and eliminate process inefficiencies.
  • Analysing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Collaborating with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods.
  • Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Working closely with production to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with the R&D and quality assurance functions. • Trouble shooting and resolving technical problems.
  • Proactively eliminate EHS hazards and ensure that work areas are safe at all times. • Leads Kaizen teams
  • Understanding of lean principles and systems thinking is needed to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiatives. Skills and Specifications
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Highly energetic and success driven team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to be persuasive and make presentations. Effectively interact with technicians and among other departments and suppliers.
  • Technical knowledge / understanding of the commercial HVAC product industry or ability to learn expeditiously.
  • Ability to persist and succeed with cross-cultural communication on technical issues.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Passionate about eliminating problems before they occur or after only one occurrence.
  • Understanding of lean principles and systems thinking is needed to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Education:
  • Associate degree with 3 plus years of experience in a technical discipline.
  • An advanced degree in a technical field is highly desired.
  • Experience: Candidate must have prior experience within a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Past work experience as a manufacturing engineer in an HVAC environment is desired. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and flexible individual that is customer and results focused.
