Governors State University is seeking to hire a Coordinator of Student Clubs and Organizations to work under the general direction of the Director, to provide assistance in developing and leading recognized student clubs and organizations. This position will be responsible for the oversight and management of student clubs and organizations and the planning and implementation of activities and programs to provide a holistic and engaging experience for Governors State University students. The coordinator works to ensure exemplary implementation of programming as well as supports daily operations within the Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Programs while transforming student lives through leadership education. The coordinator will also be responsible for the planning and execution of student organization trainings, requisitioning, workshops, resource fairs and annual Student Leadership Awards.Essential Responsibilities

40 % Advise and support recognized student clubs and organizations in the areas of event planning, budget management, purchasing, and organizational development.


20 % Management of software-based organization management system, Jaguar Connection, and develop Jaguar Connection training materials for registered student organizations.


10 % Assist in the interpretation and enforcement of university policies and procedures related to all student organizations.


5 % Manage the review, acceptance and orientation of new student organizations.


5 % Coordinate club and organization resource fair twice per semester for new and returning students.


5 % Manage on-campus marketing mediums utilized by student organizations and the campus community as a whole including billboards, e-newsletters, outdoor signage, etc.


5 % Develop and facilitate student organization/advisor trainings and a Leadership Certificate Program, a workshop series for Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) members and leaders that include transition guidance, Jaguar Connection training, programming and organization management.


5 % Participate fully in Student Affairs and Student Engagement functions, meetings, and programs.


5 % Other duties as assigned.




Starting Salary: $48,652.50
(This is a non-unionized position. Required and Preferred Qualifications


REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See "Special instructions to applicants" section below)





Minimum Qualifications:


*Bachelor's degree in higher education/student affairs, business, finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
*One plus (1+) years' experience in the area of student affairs and/or student activities in a higher education setting.
*Previous experience with software-based organization management systems.
*Willingness to work night/weekend events.


Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.




Desired Qualifications:


*Student organization advising experience.
*Experience in program and event management.
