Clinical Coordinator (High School) Job Title: Clinical Coordinator Location: Onsite- Manville School/Boston Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the High School (HS) Clinical Coordinator is a senior clinician within the Clinical Department providing managerial and clinical supervision for staff clinicians and trainees who provide clinical services and is a member of the management team assigned to the high school. The HS Clinical Coordinator also provides clinical input and psychoeducation to inform collaborative decision-making among the management and classroom teams and will facilitate bi-directional communication between high school staff and administration. As a member of the high school management team, the HS Clinical Coordinator will also work closely with the middle school management team to support a smooth transition between schools and to work towards a shared vision in anticipation of a high school expansion and a combined 7-12 school program. Essential duties:
  • Oversee the implementation of clinical services and support within the high school, including elements of universal screening and progress monitoring.
  • Oversee the implementation of the high school social-emotional learning curriculum.
  • Provides individual supervision and training for full-time clinicians and trainees within the high school.
  • Assists with high school student admission and intake procedures, including clinical interviewing of prospective students, caregivers and outside entities (school staff and clinical providers).
  • Supports crisis intervention and risk assessment within the high school.
  • Assists with decision-making regarding psychiatric hospitalization screening referrals/911 calls, as well as 51 A/mandated reporting situations
  • Attends Manville Administrative Team (MAT) meetings, including preparing to brief other MAT participants on issues specific to the high school, particularly clinically relevant topics.
  • Infuses culturally relevant clinical understandings and treatment approaches and ensures that topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and family engagement and support are explored through individual and classroom supervisions and meetings.
Qualifications Education:
  • Master of Social Work, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with current MA License
Experience:
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care and associated interventions.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and how to adapt EBPs to students with complex presentations, high acuity, and resistance to treatment.
  • Expertise in crisis management, verbal de-escalation and risk-assessment.
  • Expertise in evaluation and assessment to support diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
  • Expertise in case management, including knowledge of services, resources, levels of care.
