The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Sr. Materials Management Specialist reporting to the Operations Director of Urgent Care to support our urgent care locations and ensure seamless operations in the supply and materials management space.
Location:
This position offers a hybrid work model, with routine meetings at Mass General Brigham Headquarters in Assembly Row, Somerville, MA, and regional travel across Massachusetts and New Hampshire as needed to support our 16+ Urgent Care locations.
About the Role:
As the Sr. Materials Management Specialist for MGB MG Urgent Care, you will take the lead in overseeing the efficient management of medical supplies and equipment across 16+ locations, supporting over 400 employees indirectly. This highly visible role ensures that our urgent care centers are fully equipped to deliver outstanding patient care by maintaining smooth materials operations. You will be the key liaison between Urgent Care and our Materials Management team, working to develop, implement, and continuously improve processes while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
What You'll Do:
Leadership & Training: Provide leadership, training, and professional mentorship for staff in the areas of materials management, ensuring compliance with 5s and Lean approaches. Develop training programs and monitor staff performance to maintain high standards of operational efficiency.
Collaborative Management: Work closely with senior management on operational budgets for materials, supplies, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective solutions and compliance with financial targets.
Vendor & Supply Chain Relationships: Build strong relationships with vendors to ensure redundancy and reliability in the supply chain. Collaborate with our purchasing department to resolve supply issues and ensure continuous availability of critical medical supplies and equipment.
Operational Excellence: Conduct inventory management, including cycle counts, setting par levels, and continuously improving supply chain processes. Ensure all locations adhere to policies, procedures, and safety regulations related to materials management.
Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the effectiveness of materials management operations, recommend improvements, and create new procedures where needed. Support teams to achieve consistency across all locations in materials management practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departments like Finance Operations and Supply Chain to align materials management strategies with organizational goals. Act as a bridge between Urgent Care teams and the larger MGB MG Materials Management department.

Qualifications
About You:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required; Post-secondary education or a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in materials or supply management, with urgent care or healthcare experience being a plus. In-depth knowledge of Materials Management purchasing, contracting, vendor relationships, and product knowledge and logistics is required.
