About this Position:
AJDA is seeking to hire a Quality Reviewer to join our Team! This position will support onsite the VA in Silver Spring, MD!
Major Duties and Responsibilities • Develop and implement procedures and test plans for assuring quality in data entry. • Maintain quality control over the data abstracting process. • Conduct and review/analyze data entered and submit findings. • Develop and implement procedures for assuring quality in an environment which supports data entry / extraction or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) operations from multiple applications. • Review the work that the data abstractors are submitting. • Data accuracy is to be maintained at a minimum of 98% accuracy. • Review and/or develop documentation to support a Quality Review Manual in order to ensure accuracy of abstracted data into Defense and Veterans Eye Injury and Vision Registry (DVEIVR). • Establish and implement abstractor audit processes and procedures, documented as a SOP, to ensure accuracy of abstracted data. • Perform audits in accordance with the Quality Audit Processes. • Conduct continuous process improvement to ensure that the data abstraction process, procedures, and guides remain accurate, relevant, and efficient.
Required Qualifications • U.S. Citizen. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school OR six to seven years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of training and clinical experience. • Clinical or research experience in the field is required. • Experience with medical records, data abstraction, quality reviewing, chart audit, or coding is required. • Data entry/computer experience and strong typing skills required. • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form. • Excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills mandatory. • Flexibility in coping with changing work assignments, changing project requirements, varying training meeting schedules, and database resources that may not always function optimally. • Computer skills are required, as 90% of work activity involves working with a computer. Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new software programs are highly desirable. • Ability to make independent judgments in abstracting medical data and the knowledge of when to
seek input from other staff. • Ability to cope with incomplete medical record data and problem solve to find required information. • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or crouch, hand/wrist use, talk, see, and hear for extended periods of time.
