Job Summary: As a Production Scheduler at LogistiQ, A Division of LEWCO, you will be a part of our Planning and Scheduling team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing production efficiency, ensuring on-time delivery of products and maintaining effective communication between various departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the production schedule based on sales forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity. Create feasible production plans that align with overall business goals.
  • Regularly assess production capacity, identifying potential bottlenecks or constraints. Collaborate with production managers and stakeholders to adjust schedules and allocate resources to ensure optimal utilization of available capacity.
  • Monitor raw material, intermediate, and finished goods inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overages. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain an efficient flow of materials throughout the production process.
  • Calculate and communicate accurate lead times for various products within production and other cross-functional departments. Ensure that customer expectations align with achievable production timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, procurement, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure seamless coordination of activities. Address any production issues or delays promptly and develop solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Utilize production data, historical performance, and industry trends to make informed decisions regarding production scheduling, resource allocation, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the production scheduling process. Implement best practices to improve overall production planning and execution.
  • Use the company's ERP system to create and track job orders, update schedules, and generate reports related to production performance and adherence to schedules.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Ability to train and mentor Scheduler I associates.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as job travelers, engineering drawings and product specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Understand supply and demand concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or similar.
  • Proficient in ERP systems as it relates to planning and scheduling.
  • Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in production scheduling or manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:
  • The work environment is pleasant, temperature controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. The employee works in an office setting but does have frequent interaction with the shop floor. On the shop floor, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed and the air temperature fluctuates with the seasonal weather.
