Job Summary: As a Master Planner at LogistiQ, A Division of LEWCO, you will be a part of our Planning and Scheduling team. The ideal candidate will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department/s to meet master production schedule and on-time delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, purchasing, project management, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborates with sales, purchasing, project management, and manufacturing to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
  • Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgement to anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed.
  • Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and labor as needs to meet delivery dates.
  • Maintains master schedule for the assigned department/s; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
  • Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and project management.
  • Leads additional planning meetings with production, purchasing, and shipping.
  • Maintains dates in ERP system as required to accommodate schedule changes.
  • Utilizes company ERP system to determine jobs that need to be created and released to production work centers daily.
  • Communicates with internal customers as to the status of specific jobs and projected ship dates.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts arising from competing priorities.
  • Influences and drives organization resources to meet on-time delivery.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hires and trains planning and scheduling associates.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of planning and scheduling associates.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles employee conduct as needed and in accordance with company employee handbook and in coordination with Human Resources.

Travel Demands:
  • May require occasional travel locally.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely proficient with ERP systems as it relates to planning and scheduling.
  • Fluent in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or similar.
  • Successful completion of 60-day probationary period.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field.
  • A minimum of five years' relative experience.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:
  • The work environment is pleasant, temperature controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. The employee works in an office setting but does have frequent interaction with the shop floor. On the shop floor, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed and the air temperature fluctuates with the seasonal weather.
