CDI's mission is to advance the science of implementation and improve equitable access to the best treatments available for the people who need them the most. Candidates are sought for an immediate start.Within CDI, the Center for Dissemination & Implementation At Stanford (C-DIAS) is a National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Center of Excellence. Its mission is to advance the science of implementation and improve equitable access to the best addiction treatments available for the people who need them the most. C-DIAS addresses enormous needs in addiction treatment services and research by 1) building research capacity; 2) improving and accelerating the quality of the science; and 3) generating significant public health benefit. The Project Coordinator will support a C-DIAS research activities. A successful candidate will have: an advanced degree in a relevant social science, public health or related field; ability to take initiative, solve problems, and handle substantial responsibility; prior experience leading and supporting large teams; effectively coordinate and facilitate meetings with a range of individuals; demonstrated professionalism interacting with key stakeholders; strong oral and written communication skills; experience with database management and statistical packages such as R, STATA, SPSS, etc.; substantial experience with standard software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to successfully juggle and prioritize among multiple projects; background in mental health, substance use, other health conditions; and background or strong interest in dissemination and implementation research. Individuals who are team players and mission driven are encouraged to apply.Duties include:· Effectively coordinate and facilitate meetings with a range of individuals, including senior researchers from other institutions· Assist in designing experiments, exercising independent initiative and judgment gained from completing a variety of high level assignments, including activities such as defining variables, formulating hypotheses, and selecting subjects, sources of information, or planned and coordinating experimental protocols. · Adapt or work out the details of new, nonstandard procedures, with the supervisor providing general guidance and suggestions.· Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.· Solve problems, and make decisions that affect the direction of the research and result in independent contributions to the overall project.· Select and apply standard calculations and formulas independently to compile data or process documents; often serve as a resource for research methods and numerical analyses.· Co-author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed.· Complete project-related administrative and budgetary responsibilities of a limited scope as needed.· Supervise staff or students as needed, including oversight and instruction on techniques, as well as consultation on project work.*- Other duties may also be assignedDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree in applicable social science, public health or related field, with 3+ years of work experience.* Ability to take initiative, solve problems, and handle substantial responsibility.* Demonstrated ability to successfully juggle and prioritize among multiple projects.· Prior experience leading and supporting large teams and demonstrated professionalism interacting with key stakeholders· Ability to effectively coordinate and facilitate meetings with a range of individuals, including senior researchers from other institutions* Impeccable oral and written communication skills.* Experience in database management and statistical packages such as R, Stata, SPSS, etc.* Substantial experience with standard software packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.* Broad-based content knowledge in addiction or mental health, health services research, and implementation science. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field and two years applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):· Comprehensive understanding of scientific theory and methods.· General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.· Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.· Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.· Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.· Ability to work with human study participants.· Developing supervisory skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:· Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.· Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.· Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, operate foot and/or hand controls.· Add or subtract physical requirements based on the requirements of your specific job.
