Overview



At Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, we're on the brink of something extraordinary! As we transform into the vibrant Sunny Hotel, we're reimagining our entire guest experience-including our culinary offerings. We're looking for a talented Sous Chef to help lead this transformation and bring our new culinary vision to life.


As we rebrand from Newport to The Sunny, our Sous Chef will be a driving force behind the evolution of our kitchen. You'll work alongside our Executive Chef to craft innovative, seasonal menus that reflect the fresh, energetic spirit of The Sunny. This is your opportunity to help shape our new identity and ensure that our dining experiences match the high standards of our reimagined hotel.



Responsibilities




What You'll Be Doing

• 
  Collaborating on Menu Innovation
  
  Work closely with the Executive Chef to create and execute seasonal menus that capture The Sunny's fresh, coastal-inspired vibe.


• 
  Leading the Kitchen Team Through Change
  
  Guide, train, and motivate the kitchen team as we transition to The Sunny, ensuring everyone embraces our new direction.


• 
  Maintaining Excellence During Renovations
  
  Keep kitchen operations running smoothly and uphold high standards, even during property renovations.


• 
  Ensuring Consistency and Quality
  
  Oversee food preparation, portioning, and presentation to guarantee that every dish meets our high standards.


• 
  Fostering a Positive and Professional Environment
  
  Mentor junior staff, enforce safety and cleanliness protocols, and build a collaborative, creative kitchen team.


• 
  Sourcing Local and Sustainable Ingredients
  
  Support our commitment to sustainability by sourcing fresh, local, and environmentally responsible ingredients.

Qualifications




What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership position


• A passion for culinary creativity and innovation


• Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and guide the kitchen team


• Ability to stay calm and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment


• A deep understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen operations
