The Operational Excellence (OpX) Engineer drives Operational Excellence initiatives, focusing on Lean Principles and continuous improvement. The OpX Engineer works with the production team to implement world-class operations capabilities and best practices within the factory.
Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing change programs for Operational Excellence.
Develop, implement, and manage programs and project management processes.
Identify and implement key improvement opportunities by addressing waste, inefficiencies, and process failures.
Support rational problem-solving and performance improvement projects across the organization.
Lead Kaizen Technicians and guide them in making quick frontline improvements.
Train and coach staff on World Class Operations & Lean best practices, including 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and more.
Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement to create a competitive advantage.
Develop and maintain process documentation to standardize operations.
Analyze Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) data and use it to drive improvements.
Identify opportunities for capital projects focused on process improvement and automation.
Typical Assignments May Include:
Resolving safety, environmental, and ergonomics issues.
Troubleshooting and programming robots.
Implementing process improvements and optimizations.
Conducting cost analyses and driving cost reductions.
Supporting shop floor activities and developing processes for new products.
Performing capacity studies.
Other assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
8+ years of relevant engineering project experience.
Strong analytical skills and root cause analysis.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
TPS (Toyota Production System) experience is highly preferred.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
Working knowledge of MRP (SAP is a plus) and Shop Floor Control systems (MES preferred).
