Job Description:

The Operational Excellence (OpX) Engineer drives Operational Excellence initiatives, focusing on Lean Principles and continuous improvement. The OpX Engineer works with the production team to implement world-class operations capabilities and best practices within the factory.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and monitor Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing change programs for Operational Excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and manage programs and project management processes.
  • Identify and implement key improvement opportunities by addressing waste, inefficiencies, and process failures.
  • Support rational problem-solving and performance improvement projects across the organization.
  • Lead Kaizen Technicians and guide them in making quick frontline improvements.
  • Train and coach staff on World Class Operations & Lean best practices, including 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and more.
  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement to create a competitive advantage.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to standardize operations.
  • Analyze Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) data and use it to drive improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for capital projects focused on process improvement and automation.

Typical Assignments May Include:
  • Resolving safety, environmental, and ergonomics issues.
  • Troubleshooting and programming robots.
  • Implementing process improvements and optimizations.
  • Conducting cost analyses and driving cost reductions.
  • Supporting shop floor activities and developing processes for new products.
  • Performing capacity studies.
  • Other assignments as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Education: 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering project experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • TPS (Toyota Production System) experience is highly preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MRP (SAP is a plus) and Shop Floor Control systems (MES preferred).
