Job Description:

Title: Datacenter Technician

Location: Onsite - WEST VALLEY
  • 14250 W. Broadway rd. Goodyear, AZ 85338

Pay Rate: $23-26/hr

Duration: 6 month - 2 years (rolling contracts)

Must be USC or GC holder

Compensation:

$23/hr to $26/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Ideal candidate:
  • 5+ years of experience working within a Data Center (on the hardware and server-side)
  • Experience working within the IT helpdesk space
  • Veteran
  • A+ Certification
  • Professional and Mature

Shifts:

First month they will be working Monday - Friday 6am - 3:30PM

THEN they will need to work either A or B Shift

Contractors will be paid 10 hours per day, 4 days a week, working the below.

  • 3 openings - A side days (Sunday - Wednesday) 6AM - 5:30PM with a 1 hour lunch break and a ½ hour afternoon break.
  • 3 openings - B side days (Wednesday - Saturday) 5AM - 5:30PM with a 1-hour lunch break and a ½ hour afternoon break.
  • Breaks cannot be taken consecutively and must be at least 3 hours apart.

Must-haves
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Level 2 experience working in a Test Lab environment working with Hardware
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience
  • Ability to independently and regularly lift items weighing up to 50lbs or in partnership for items over 50lbs in weight.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a local or geographically dispersed team environment.

  • Great server hardware knowledge with a deep understanding of all component & system-type failures
  • Proven RCA or Failure analysis history
  • Experienced in controlled experiments to determine the root cause.
  • Assist in conducting failure analysis on-field issues until the root cause is determined based on:
  • Controlled testing of suspect hardware, system, or firmware
  • Utilize Linux and Windows Command-Line to troubleshoot hardware.
  • Communication, Foundational Skills, and Competencies
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in the investigation of issues, RCA/FA documents, etc. is critical to this role. It is essential to both the customer and VSEI.
  • Provide timely, detailed, precise, and accurate feedback to the Engineering teams on failures, serviceability of servers, and integration with the data center.

What you'll do:

We are seeking a strong Data Center Technician to support both company-specific servers as well as data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate balances strong technical hardware, physical network set up, and verbal/written communication skills, who are also are highly analytical with superior attention-to-detail, self-motivated, and a positive, humble 'results driven' attitude. This person will serve as a mentor and trainer to other Service technicians in the field. Technicians are also expected to provide feedback, create documentation on both technical and non-technical processes, and contribute to our knowledge library that can be leveraged by others, for example KB Articles, SOP, lessons learned, etc. Additionally, the Tech will be both internal and external facing with the ability to lead and drive initiatives as assigned to a conclusion.
