Job Description:

Job Summary: The Multifamily Construction Project Engineer will assist in the coordination, planning, and execution of hotel and multifamily construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working on multifamily residential buildings and hotels, with a solid understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project coordination. The Project Engineer will support the project management team in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating all construction activities, including schedules, materials, and labor, to ensure timely completion of multifamily and hotel projects.
  • Submittals & Documentation: Manage submittals, RFI processes, change orders, and construction documentation. Ensure that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Material Procurement & Tracking: Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment required for hotel and multifamily construction. Track and report the status of materials to ensure timely delivery to the job site.
  • Cost & Budget Management: Help manage project costs by tracking budgets, reviewing invoices, and analyzing financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and company standards. Participate in regular inspections and punch list management.
  • Field Supervision Support: Provide on-site support to the Superintendent by reviewing plans, resolving construction issues, and ensuring all subcontractors adhere to the construction schedule and safety protocols.
  • Scheduling Assistance: Work with the project team to develop and maintain construction schedules. Track project progress and report on milestones to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers regarding technical questions and project updates. Maintain effective communication between the project team and stakeholders.
  • Project Closeout: Assist in the completion of the project closeout process, including final inspections, punch lists, and turnover of documentation, warranties, and as-builts to the client.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all on-site construction activities comply with OSHA and company safety regulations. Attend and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project engineering, with a focus on multifamily residential buildings and hotels.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations specific to multifamily and hotel projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with diverse teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with LEED certification processes or sustainable building practices is a plus.
