As the General manager you will be responsible for managing food and beverage operations for a highly successful rooftop bar at the hotel. You would be responsible to forecast, plan and manage all F&B ordering, staff and finance. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement. You would also work with the entertainment team to plan out entertainment options for the place and work out feasibility, marketability for the same.
The goal is to make this a togo place for locals, business and tourist travelers and you would play an important role by being a sales and marketing ambassador for the place.
Select, train, and retain highly skilled service-oriented and hospitality-focused team members. Conduct and coordinate ongoing training for team members, to develop food and beverage product knowledge and sales skills, focusing on food, wine and beverage pairing. Continually enhances beverage product knowledge and is regarded as the food and beverage expert.
Core Responsibilities
Plan and organize how beverage systems will be set up (such as storage and display options).
Ensure the bar is running smoothly at all times by overseeing its day-to-day operations. Maintain a safe and fun environment for customers.
Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours.
Responsible for hiring and training new beverage staff members.
Communicate company policy, standards and procedures to staff
Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation.
Ensure that staff is following local requirements and proper alcohol distribution regulations. All employees are certified per local requirements
Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
Planning and taking part in promotional events.
Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations
Oversee accurate cash-up procedures and ensure necessary paperwork is complete
Ensure adherence to cash management procedures
Overseeing the ordering and inventory control of beverages. Ensure adherence to stock control procedures
Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons
Monitor and order supplies
Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives. Communicate with vendors to assure the appropriate number of products are on hand for the forecasted demand
Confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms
Make certain all deliveries are checked in correctly and documentation is correct
Check stock is correctly rotated and stored to reduce wastage
Work shifts required to meet the needs of the bar. This includes nights, weekends and holidays
Spend busy nights glad-handing customers to ensure their dining experience is the best
Requirements
High school diploma.
Bar/ beverage management experience of 5-6 years at a high paced upscale bar
Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles.
Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Mixologist education
Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
Quick decision making, problem solving and high stress tolerance.
Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
