Phoenix Window & Door is a highly competitive, turn-key window and door subcontractor. We contract with all types of General Contractors: local, national, residential and lite commercial. We are looking for a candidate who can learn about windows and doors, be responsible for reading blueprints, creating takeoffs and proposals and coordinating with all necessary departments throughout the life of assigned projects. The candidate will be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will be able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process. This is a deadline-based position, extra hours will be required to meet deadlines. A candidate with a positive, can-do attitude is a must!
Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Evaluate the level of risk for a project, collaborate with Sales Representatives and Management to offer value engineering options for the customer
Obtain quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates
Read blueprints to understand all applicable details, complete detailed takeoff
Accurately maintain and update bid documents, including takeoffs, plans, price lists, sales brochures and supplier price information.
Create material submittals and communicate with Architects and Project Managers
Coordinate the greenlight of assigned projects to purchasing and operations teams
Communicate with field team, review RFIs and ASIs or other documents for changes, create change orders and communicate to all internal and external teams
Time Management: Assist with multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Attend weekly meetings to collaborate with management, evaluate project progress and understand assignments. Be prepared for meetings to discuss all pertinent information on your assignments
Qualifications
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
Flexible schedule for deadline-based position, mainly Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts
High school diploma/GED
Ability to work in the office daily. This is not a remote position.
Technically proficient in Office, Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint
Prefer previous industry and/or estimating experience
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
High degree of detail orientation and organizational skills
Exceptional written communication and interpersonal skills
