YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Ambulatory Care Initiatives:
Develop and manage ambulatory care pharmacy practice sites, building strong partnerships with medical staff to enhance outpatient medication regimens.
Perform dispensing functions in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care.
Optimize Drug Therapy Management:
Assess patient responses to drug therapy, modifying treatment plans as needed based on physician diagnoses.
Order and evaluate laboratory tests to monitor therapeutic outcomes and drug therapy effects, ensuring safety and efficacy.
Enhance Patient Care Through Education:
Provide clinical pharmacy services in selected clinics, including patient education, therapeutic drug monitoring, and consultative support for medical staff.
Document clinical services and therapeutic consults, continuously assessing their economic impact and preparing related reports.
Participate in Quality Assurance Activities:
Engage in quality assurance initiatives, conducting drug utilization evaluations and measuring the clinical pharmacist’s impact on drug therapy.
Utilize telecommunications and information technologies to deliver health assessments, consultations, and educational resources across distances.
Support Military Health Readiness:
Offer pharmaceutical services in support of deployment and redeployment operations, ensuring that SMs receive the medications they need.
Collaborate with local Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) to enhance overall military health readiness.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
Must be a United States citizen.
Internship/Residency:
Completion of a clinical pharmacy residency or fellowship accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, or documentation of equivalent training.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of postgraduate experience as a clinical pharmacist within the last three (3) years.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in any U.S. jurisdiction.
Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a high caseload in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with command personnel, healthcare teams, and SMs.
Proficient in telehealth technologies and virtual care platforms.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Location:
Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
Schedule:
Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
Telehealth:
May be required to provide remote services during public health emergencies or other contingencies.
Supervision:
Work closely with other healthcare providers, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained.
