YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate Mobilization & Demobilization:
Ensure SMs are medically cleared for Mobilization/Demobilization (MOB/DEMOB) and direct them to appropriate healthcare when needed.
Utilize effective time management and critical thinking skills to minimize wait times ensuring timely access to healthcare.
Provide Comprehensive Case Management:
Deliver services to SMs identified with medical, surgical, or mental health issues during deployment processes.
Maintain an average caseload of ten (10) to thirty (30) SMs weekly, adhering to productivity standards established by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
Conduct Thorough Assessments & Documentation:
Interview SMs and review their medical records to identify their needs and implement care plans.
Document all interactions and treatment provided in MHS Genesis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established standards.
Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals:
Communicate vital patient information to Physicians, Physician Assistants (PAs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to facilitate coordinated healthcare.
Carry out prescribed orders from medical providers, maintaining accurate records of all interventions.
Respond to Emergencies with Confidence:
Recognize and initiate appropriate emergency measures, including life-saving interventions when necessary.
Complete each patient encounter and appropriately close medical records within twenty-four (24) hours.
Adhere to Clinical Standards:
Follow government and professional clinical standards, ensuring compliance with MTF policies and procedures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Must be a United States citizen.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of full-time experience as an Register Nurse Case Manager within the last three (3) years.
Licensure & Certifications:
Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any U.S. jurisdiction.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage an extensive caseload in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with command personnel, healthcare teams, and SMs.
Proficient in telehealth technologies and virtual care platforms.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Location:
Work will primarily be performed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and affiliated facilities within a forty (40) mile radius with potential assignments based on operational needs.
Schedule:
Hours may vary based on mission requirements, including surge support during mobilizations and demobilizations. Flexibility is required to meet mission demands.
Telehealth:
May be required to provide remote services during public health emergencies or other contingencies.
Supervision:
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a high standard of healthcare is maintained.
