What will you do?
Design Engineer I is an entry-level position. Together with your team, you will develop teamwork skills and use your engineering knowledge to design Taylor equipment. Projects will range from small projects such as parts and assemblies to larger projects such as complex assemblies integrating electrical and hydraulic components. Using computer aided design (CAD) and engineering analysis skills you will creatively design parts and assemblies, translate your designs to technical drawings and manufacturing instructions, support your designs in the prototyping and manufacturing stages, and use your expertise to advise and improve your designs throughout the lifetime of the product.
Essential Functions/Qualifications:
Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Candidate must have a willingness to develop CAD and engineering analysis skills.
Any experience with mechanisms or mobile equipment is a plus.
Candidate must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
You will utilize 3D CAD software to create parts and assemblies.
You will utilize 2D CAD software to create accurate and practical technical drawings.
You will utilize data management tools such as spreadsheets, analytical tools, and reporting software to support your designs.
You will encounter all types of projects and be asked to creatively develop solutions which are cost effective, manufacturing friendly, and unique to provide solutions for our customers. You should be a team player, be flexible and creative, and have a positive attitude.
Working Hours
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Over 40 hours per week when necessary to meet project goals.
