About the Role:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas if looking for a versatile and highly motivated Director, Examinations who will manage and develop staff to carry out risk-focused supervisory responsibilities. The Director, Examinations oversees a portfolio of community banking organizations and manages staff to accomplish risk-focused supervisory responsibilities. Help form supervisory policies, procedures and guidance and their implementation within assigned functional area. Contribute to several Federal Reserve System, Reserve Bank, and Departmental projects by participating on committees, projects, and training activities. Provide input to and works with Reserve Bank officers, Board of Governors staff, and staff of other regulatory agencies.

You Will:


  • Under general oversight, manage a team of examiners responsible for examining assigned entities

  • Identify emerging and interconnecting risks in the assigned portfolio to assist staff in carrying out risk-focused supervisory responsibilities

  • Oversee the completion and report processing of examinations and inspections of assigned entities

  • Review supervisory work products for distribution to the appropriate stakeholders

  • Review work papers to ensure adequate support to substantiate findings and ensures the supervisory approach is consistent with Board expectations

  • Participate in meetings with bank officials, other regulatory agencies, and Reserve Bank management to discuss issues of supervisory activities

  • Supervise assigned personnel, including recommendations for hiring and dismissals

  • Appraise and evaluate performance, administer compensation, ensure adequate training and development, and provide appropriate feedback and counseling to improve job performance of supervised personnel

  • Make decisions guided by established policies, procedures and business line priorities

  • Remain abreast of relevant statutes, regulations, supervisory policies, and current banking industry trends

  • Continue to gain knowledge of assigned entities and develop leadership skills

  • Contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic planning efforts of the department management team

You Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Examiner commission from a federal or state banking agency and served in various leadership roles

  • Exposure to a variety of examination disciplines and a broad-based knowledge of the banking industry, and risk management practices

  • Ability to provide strong technical expertise and guidance to coach examination staff

  • Capacity to identify and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously, and deliver superior results

  • Initiative, ability to follow through on directions with minimal supervision, and recognize situations where deviation from original direction is appropriate

  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to present to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and lead in a variety of situations

  • Ability to facilitate crucial conversations among internal or external parties

  • A high level of proficiency in utilizing work process tools

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements

Notes:

This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.

This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely.  Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
