Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Designs, implements/installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware and server application software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports problems on all hardware and software systems. Performs a wide variety of tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support. May be responsible for maintaining voice communication services for Newmark as well as for our clients.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for developing the technology architecture of the firm, including but not limited to hardware, software, voice applications, networking, systems and support processes and procedures. May assist with provisioning services for voice communication services for GEMS and their local clients.
Work closely with IT managers/supervisors to develop strategy and architecture that will benefit the organization as a whole. May maintain contract compliance for voice and data vendors.
Assess new technologies and apprise management of changes that may be appropriate to the mission of the company.
Work with field personnel to assess, troubleshoot and resolve problems pertaining to voice and data communication systems or service. May contact vendors or other personnel as needed.
Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.

Provides third level support to the field offices and affiliate office personnel on problems and issues related to hardware, software, voice applications, networks and business applications.
Responsible for configuring, documenting, implementing and troubleshooting the following software products; Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Email Systems, Backup products, Anti-Virus products, Anti-SPAM products, and Remote Access methods.
Trouble-shoot server hardware and operating systems.
Administration of the server operating and email systems.
Oversees daily backup of server data files, media, and off-site storage administration.
Other Job Functions:
Cross train analysts or technicians on process and procedures within the IT department.
May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Network concept, structure and connectivity.
Other duties may be assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree - computer related field preferred but not required. (Equivalent experience will suffice)
Microsoft Certification preferred but not required - MCSE NT 4.0, 2000 or 2003
1-2 years' experience with Ethernet network environment and peripherals.
1-2 years' experience with HP/Compaq servers - SmartStart and Insight Manager.
Strong technical background on IBM PC/AT compatible type of hardware and peripherals.
Strong knowledge of DHCP, TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, LMHost, and Host files.
Project management skills
Experience with disaster recovery and planning concepts.
Excellent verbal and writing skills

Salary: $70,000 - $78,000 annually
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $78,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
