Job Description:

ECS is seeking a DARPA Technical Programmatic SETA (Physics, Power Electronics, Math) to work in our Arlington, VA office.



Job Description:


Candidate sought to provide on-site technical and program management support to DARPA program manager by participating in or leading all activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, and program-funded test coordination. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself. The candidate should possess technical research, development and engineering experience across a breadth of DoD projects. Relevant skills include experience developing high-power electronics, optics and fiber lasers. Experience in sensors and data processing is highly desired. Exemplary candidates will also have demonstrated an ability to learn new subjects and gain rapid insights into current and next-generation research topics, preferably with hands-on leadership of research programs at the performer level.



Required Skills:


  • Active DoD Clearance.

  • US citizenship required per contract.

  • TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Background in physics, power electronics, and mathematics.
  • At least 5 years' experience with applied physics and new technology development work, preferably with experience building and testing hardware.
  • Prior experience working programs at DARPA as a technical and program management support contractor.
  • Demonstrated program management expertise, with over 5 years following program management best practices in a research environment, preferably as a project lead.
  • Expertise and strong interest in the above technical areas.
  • Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support program goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written (to include PowerPoint) and oral.
  • Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.
  • Flexible and readily adaptable to change.



Desired Skills:


  • Masters or PhD in Physics, Elect Engr, Math, or other STEM
