XTG is a global team that develops, designs, and supports experiential projects in partnership with AVI-SPL regional offices.
As part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), Design Engineers provide proposal details and pre-sales coordination for creative AV designs to enable experiential storytelling. This customer-facing, senior design role supports pre-sales creative engineering and provides on-going post-sales project support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide creative technology design support, in partnership with Technologists, for XTG and their partners
Translate customer requirements or Technologist or Creative Partner vision into functional system designs and proposals
Communicate design intent with hand sketches, electronic drawings, renderings, diagrams, outlines, storyboards, and/or narratives
Take ownership of problem-solving
Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculations and facilitate coordination with disciplines and trades
Review pre-construction design and documentation
Assist with technical design pricing and identify any logistical challenges
Generate functional system descriptions and block diagrams
Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed
Serve as Customer liaison for engineering inquires
Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products and identify new creative technologies
Post sales project consultation
Review and validate the work of lower level Design Engineers
Travel to various job sites is required
Support of meetings outside of local time zones is required (up to 20 times per year)

Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer-facing and communications skills
Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner
Track record of designing and implementing experiential AV solutions
Ability to work and think creatively as well as independently and ensuring to meet deadlines and solve problems with a 'how can it be done' attitude
Ability to diagnose complex system problems
Proficient with test and calibration equipment
Support user acceptance testing
Advanced computer skills as required for the design configuration and operation of AV equipment
Ability to travel internationally is required
Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
Education and/or Experience:
At least 10 years of AV experience with AVIXA CTS-D preferred
Previous work with consultancy, creative agency, production house or creative fabricator preferred
Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
