Position Summary
Under the general direction of the SVP of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer, the Accounting and Finance Systems Manager is responsible for the Accounting & Finance ("A&F") business systems that enable the Financial management of the company. This will include projects, programs, and system infrastructure for our A&F team, where you will facilitate both strategic and tactical projects including daily issue remediation, supporting the business with project request intake activities, and educating and communicating system capabilities applicable to the business stakeholders.
This is a critical role for the A&F team as it leverages the technical IT system knowledge to bring value to the organization not only through traditional core activities, but also contributing to identifying opportunities to leverage the systems through agile automations, reports/queries creation and efficient interfaces that reduce manual processes and increases productivity of the A&F team.
Specific Responsibilities
Own the A&F Financial systems roadmap, translation to incremental steps and overall program management to accomplish system evolution, including proactive communications and updates to the A&F leadership
Manage prioritization of backlog, inbound requests, and bug management to enable a balance of development resources and on-time execution of business needs
Provide user support for the A&F team across all four states.
Responsible for maintenance of the financial systems including system upgrades, data quality, security, user training and support, data warehousing, research and planning support.
Perform internal control functions required by Sarbanes-Oxley, including application and system controls.
Provide support to the A&F team during the month end close process by developing and deploying various automations to assist in improving the speed and quality of the close
Build, develop and deploy reports leveraging internal and external resources to address the A&F team accounting and regulatory business requirements.
Assist the A&F leadership with the development and deployment of the Finance Technology transformation roadmap.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to effectively solve IT business and technical issues
Possess a continuous improvement mindset
Lead, train and develop the team members
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
10 + years in Financial systems management role with direct responsibility for Financial day-to-day support, strategic planning and project implementation
Knowledge of system administration and ability to design, build and deploy automations, reports and interfaces
Experience with JDE Enterprise One, Power Plan, Bottomline, InsightSoftware, and/or other Oracle applications
Ability to work with, teach, and support diverse employees, analyze complex problems and situations, problem solve, meet timelines and provide creative approaches to problem solving
Strong quantitative and analytical skills and management skills (e.g. planning and organization)
Must be independent and self-driven person who can identify issues and take responsibility for the solution
Willingness to roll up sleeves, dig into problems and bring them to resolution within an organization with operations in four states
Experience with robotic process automation is a plus
Prior experience deploying or upgrading accounting and finance systems
Good verbal and written communication skills (e.g. presentation, listening, report writing), and interpersonal skills.
Required Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information systems, accounting or a closely related field
Minimum of ten years directly related experience managing and providing business support for accounting and finance systems.
Other Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
