The PRN Simulation Technician provides technical and administrative support to the simulation program as needed. The Technician ideally has a background in the operation, programming, repair or maintenance of patient simulation equipment or medical lab equipment. The PRN Technician will provide support to the lab's simulation activities as requested by the full-time simulation staff. The PRN Technician will provide support lab organization. The PRN Technician will have strong diagnostic and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to work independently as well as within various teams.
Please note:This is not a teaching position.
Maintain the Center as a clean, safe and operational facility and optimal learning environment following universal precautions and CDC guidelines.
Manipulate simulator during scenario; perform on the fly troubleshooting; and provide theatrical support, as needed.
Set up and breakdown lab activities based on program needs.
Provide back-up support to full-time simulation technician.
Troubleshoot all simulators and peripheral equipment and obtain warranty service and/or on-site repair as appropriate.
Maintain a database for inventory of supplies and perform inventory of supplies.
REQUIRED:
Associate degree in science, computer science, or healthcare field;
Experience in a lab setting with working with lab equipment, including maintaining, programming, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing lab equipment;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and selected Mac applications;
Experience with audio visual equipment and technology including production and editing;
Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills;
Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
Ability to work independently as well as within various teams;
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED:
One year of experience in the healthcare field;
Experience with patient simulation mannequins;
CHE certification;
Patient simulator repair certification.

Hourly Rate: $33.95 Hours: No more than 18.5 hours per week when needed.
Start Date: December, 2024 and ongoing as needed
