Facility: Wellstar Family Medicine - Atlanta (3890 Redwine)
Wellstar is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our integrated primary care team. The successful candidate will work alongside medical providers to deliver comprehensive mental health care to patients in a primary care setting. This role is ideal for a therapist who is passionate about holistic, patient-centered care, and collaborative treatment within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders.
Conduct screenings and assessments for mental health conditions as part of routine patient care.
Collaborate with primary care providers, case managers, and other specialists to develop and implement integrated treatment plans.
Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Offer consultation and psychoeducation to primary care providers and medical staff on behavioral health topics.
Assist with crisis intervention and facilitate appropriate referrals for patients in need of specialized or more intensive services.
Document patient care activities and progress in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in integrated care and mental health treatment.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Active and unrestricted licensure (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in GA.
Experience in providing mental health services in a medical or integrated care setting is preferred.
Training or certification in brief, evidence-based interventions and crisis management is desirable.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
Knowledge of diverse mental health issues and cultural competency in providing care to a varied patient population.
Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation.
