Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Firewall Consultant POS 2 within our NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (NYC DOITT) team located in Brooklyn, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in design meetings and reviews from a security and network perspective on assigned priority projects.
Propose networking security architecture to meet the business requirements and while adhering to OTI's best practices guidelines.
Collaborate with OTI's Architect teams for developing operable solutions for Citywide requirements.
Complete all requirements for installing new network or firewall devices.
Follow OTI process for new devices provisioning of integrated systems.
Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including configuration, administration, deployment, and migration.
Experience with Next-Gen Firewalls, Prisma Access, Prisma Cloud, Panorama, and/or Global Protect is also desirable.
Follow OTI's established procedures to successfully replace firewalls and firewall rules.
Solid understanding of network security, NGFW, SASE, SD-WAN, CASB, Proxy, DLP, and BYOD solutions.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum 13 years of experience in the field of networking, network security and firewalls
Must have hands-on experience with Palo Alto
Deep understanding and experience of DNS, NTP, BGP and other critical infrastructure protocols.
Must understand BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS routing protocols in a large environment.
Deep understanding on routing, load balancing and networking infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications:
Hands on experience in Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewall technology
Additional experience in the field of load balancing.
Good project management skills
Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $70.00 to $80.00.
