The Category Analyst interprets data, provides recommendations based on analysis, and executes plans supporting the strategy and goals of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to Giant's high-performance team and partnerships both internally and externally
Work cross functionally with internal departments: Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Pricing Strategy, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations
Maintain relationships with Giant's Vendor Community to develop sales plans
Curate distinctive, customer centric assortment
Provide data driven recommendations to identify key points and opportunities that lead to meaningful and relevant conclusions
Create meaningful and engaging omnichannel promotions to author Giant's featured assortment
Forecast promotional activities and plans in alignment with departmental budget
Capture and communicate insights to the appropriate stakeholders
Requirements:
3-5 years of analytical experience in a retail and/or Consumer Packaged Goods role
Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Proficient in MSL Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word)
Balances workload and priorities
Proven success with analytical interpretation of complex data sets
Effective and concise communication and presentation skills
Precise attention to detail
Negotiation ability is encouraged
Exposure to with syndicated/competitive data (e.g. Nielsen, Circana/IRI) preferred
