Location: Hybrid onsite 3 days a week in Culver City. Onsite T-TH. Monday and Friday Remote.
This person will carry out packaging structural design and improvement works to achieve optimum materials usage, cube efficiency and packing costs
Responsibilities
Make packaging structural design recommendations and/or solutions. Consider materials usage, packaging cube (size) and packing labor contents.
Communicate packaging structural design proposals and resolve packaging structural issues with head office and regional offices.
Provide packaging materials, dimension, and performance specifications
Work closely with project engineering team to support key project milestone dates and ensure project start production on time.
Work with printer and manufacturing vendor to provide packaging structural cost estimates
Coordinate and address related packaging issues between printer and manufacturing vendor
Verify and approve packaging structural sample (PPSR) before production start
Propose various packaging alternatives to project engineering team. Strive to achieve best cost benefits.
Support company sustainability initiatives to reduce plastics usage. Look for environmentally friendly packaging structural design options when applicable.
Carry out other related works assigned by supervisor such as packaging data collection, photo shooting, carton dimension checking, etc..
Skills/Experience • College/University graduate in packaging structural design or equivalent • At least 5 years of experience in packaging structure design field • Self-motivated and with good sense of responsibility • Able to work independently. • Proficient in Adobe CS 3 and MS office. • Familiar with CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and ArtiosCAD • Fair command of English and communication skill
