The Chemical Manufacturing Manager leads the Manufacturing Department at the Fort Worth site to achieve targets for Safety, Environmental, Production, Quality, and Cost. Develop and execute ideas and capital projects for Continuous Improvement of plant manufacturing operations. Lead, coach, and develop the Manufacturing Department team to enable operational excellence and growth opportunities at the Fort Worth site.
Chemical Manufacturing Manager Responsibilities:
Establish, execute, and maintain safe systems of work across plant production operations.
Lead day-to-day operations through the safe and timely execution of the agreed 7 fixed schedule as well as monthly manufacturing targets.
Manage Manufacturing Department consisting of Production Supervisors, Process Engineers, and Production Operators.
Lead day-to day operations (including SAP transactions), housekeeping, audits, safety issues, maintenance needs, capital projects, process improvements, overtime, training, procedural updates, and other operational issues.
Responsible for developing department budgets and performance metrics and meeting the budget and goals aligned with corporate guidance.
Set strategic priorities for Manufacturing Department in cooperation with Plant Manager and executive leadership.
Develop and foster a problem-solving culture that looks to establish root cause
Generate ideas, plans, and projects to enhance the performance of the manufacturing units, e.g., process, rate, yields and quality improvement through lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts.
Stimulate operations personnel to think outside the boundaries.
Responsible for personnel employee development through growth, performance feedback, communication, involvement, skills enhancement, delegating responsibility, decision-making and coaching.
Work with Quality Department to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through product consistency and prompt follow-up to customer issues and feedback.
Participate and represent the plant on appropriate plant business teams and the S&OP process.
Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems.
Responsible for establishing safety/environmental performance targets, insuring proficiency of Manufacturing Department with EH&S procedures, guidelines, and requirements, ensuring the funds for EH&S improvement projects are planned and acquired, and insuring understanding and adherence to local, state and federal EH&S regulations.
Chemical Manufacturing Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering field required
5+ years operations and/ or engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing setting
3+ years supervisory experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing setting.
Strategic thinking, good communication skills both verbally and written, strong technical aptitude, multitask oriented
SAP experience preferred
Computer literate - expertise in Microsoft Office required
