Fund Overview
Founded in 2007, Bosch Ventures is set up to closely mirror a traditional financial Venture Capital fund. We are currently investing out of Fund 5, a 250M EUR investment vehicle and anticipate launching Fund 6, with a similar size, at the beginning of 2025. Bosch Ventures targets Series A - Series C stage companies and typically writes checks of $2M - $10M, with the ability to lead, co-lead or follow-on in investment rounds. There have been around 100 investments to date, with approximately 70 current active portfolio companies.
Investment focus
Bosch Ventures has a wide array of investment verticals of interest spanning Applied AI/ML, Advanced Manufacturing, Enterprise SaaS, Data Applications and Infrastructure, Next-Gen Compute, Supply Chain & Logistics, Robotics, Climate Tech and Healthcare Systems. We target startups which have developed unique proprietary technology or novel business models. Bosch Ventures focuses on companies starting at an early stage but also invests in late-stage, more mature companies.
Job profile - Investment Director
Bosch Ventures is hiring for the investment team in the SF Bay area. The Investment Director role maps closely to a Senior Associate position at other funds. In the future, Investment Directors will be given the tools and opportunities to grow within the Bosch Ventures organization.
Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate startups and investment opportunities in relevant technology sectors
Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends and new market opportunities.
Build and maintain a network of founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and ecosystem partners to source high-quality deal flow.
Conduct thorough due diligence, including market research, financial analysis, and competitive landscape assessments.
Prepare detailed investment memos and present findings to the global Bosch Ventures team.
Manage and monitor portfolio investments.
Travel throughout the US and Europe as needed
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred)
2+ years of relevant professional experience. Ideal candidates would have prior experience working in venture capital, at a startup, or in a technical role.
Experience assessing early-stage technologies and teams
Experience networking with startups and co-investors
Preferred Qualifications
Prior venture capital experience (1 - 2 years)
Master's degree in engineering, finance, or a related field or MBA
Personal network in the SF Bay area
Thrives in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment with incomplete data
Proficiency comprehending a technology and understanding the technical and commercial challenges in a development process, in at least one of the Bosch Ventures search fields
Valuation and transaction experience, ideally in a start-up environment
Proficiency to grasp a business model and understand the challenges in building the business
Networking skills (entrepreneurs, investors, research institutes, corporations, and academia)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $200,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
